This metric weight set consists of high quality cast and brass metal weights.
The set has a total of 10 weights and includes the following pieces: one piece of 1kg one piece of 500g two of 200g one of 100g one of 50g two of 20g one of 10g one of 5g The total mass of the set is 2105 grams and it provides for weighing objects from 5g to 2105g with 5 grams increments. This set is perfect in combination with a balance scale, to accurately measure the mass of the object with an unknown mass. Put the object on one side of the scale and add or remove weights on the other side of the balance until it is even. This set is also perfect to show students that mass can haveequivalent values in collections of weights, for instance that a collection of2 weights with a mass of 20 gram and one of 10 gram has the same mass as one weight of 50 gram. By using the weights in combination with a balance scale, you can perform addition and subtraction activities by showing that the mass on one side of the scale has the same value as the mass on the other side of the scale (when the scale is balanced): 20 + 20 + 10 (on one side of the balance) = 50 (on the other side of the balance). You can also introduce smaller than and greater than, when the scale is not balanced. Ages 6+ years
