Milestone Maths Year 1 Workbooks for Australian Homeschoolers
Level B is for the average student in year 1 with four self-contained, engaging workbooks — one for each term. Milestone Maths enables early independence so teacher material is kept to a minimum. Brief instructions for parents appear at the front of each book and answer keys can be downloaded for free on each product page. Splashes of colour and illustrations are used throughout to bring lessons to life and make concepts easier to understand. Sumstix (aka Cuisensaire rods) are a budget friendly hands on resource that make learning maths practical and fun. They are essential for Level B.
Units of work are called milestones, with each milestone focusing on one broad topic like “adding to five” and covering the topic from many different angles. At the end of each lesson, a “Review and Practice” section keeps old ideas fresh, deepening understanding.
Each book contains four lessons per week for a total of forty lessons, divided into five milestones per term. Check out the description for each book to discover what each milestone teaches.
