This Writing in Text Types series Year 3, 4, 5 & 6 aims to develop students' writing skills through guided teaching exercises.
 
The contents are chosen to be within students' experience to promote confident writing.
The series develops understandings about the main text types: recounts, narratives, information reports, procedures, descriptions, explanations and expositions.
 
Modelled answers are included. Each student should aim to develop their individual writing style.
The use of dictionaries to boost word power is recommended. Specific topics may be better attempted after reading resource material about the topic, to improve understandings and boost confidence, as professional writers do. Topics are considered to be of high interest for students, and many integrated with school studies.
