In Common Sense Science Vertebrates, students will learn the definition of work and how friction impacts work.
 
They will build and do activities with the six basic tools:
Incline Plane
Wedge
Screw
Lever
Wheel and Axle
Pulley
 
Students will also learn about:
Gears
Cams
Cranks
Springs
Ball Bearings
 
The study ends with learning about power tools and complex machines. Complete directions are included for making 3D Graphic Organizers that allow students to see and touch content, increasing understanding and retention.
