Journey to the Centre of the Earth, by Jules Verne, is an adventurous story of a professor, his nephew and their guide who take on a dangerous and misguided journey from Iceland, where they enter the crater of a dormant volcano to reach the centre of the Earth.
 
On the way they encounter pre-historic, dinosaur like monsters and bravely face the eruptive and turbulent forces that they come across below the Earth's surface.
