This bead string consists of 100 beads in red and white (50 red beads and 50 white beads). The colour change of the beads helps students learn to think of numbers in groups of tens, or readjust the beads and count in groups of fives. Beads can be removed and manipulated to change groups and patterns as required.
 
This resource helps students visualise the concept of counting in 10's and is an ideal tool for teaching number bonds. It assists in learning to count to 100. It helps students develop effective counting, addition and subtraction strategies, by moving the beads on the lace.
