Art of the Ancients K-3 Volume 2 is over 18 lessons (1 per week = 1 semester), you will enjoy the clever projects connected to historical art periods. For example, when reading about ancient cave paintings, your project involves using chalk on a crumpled brown paper bag to mimic the effect. Egyptians painted murals on their walls depicting daily life. Using a roll of brown paper or the blank side of wrapping paper, show us something from your daily life (in profile!) Each lesson tells you what supplies will be used.
This book is an insightful look at ancient art history, from art found in the caves of France to the classical art of the Roman Empire. As young learners create and respond to art of ancient cultures, they learn that there are many ways to see the world and are empowered to make choices and express ideas in new ways. Each of the twelve text lessons provide colorful illustrations, fine art, and visual instruction. Six video lessons engage learners as they absorb new information on art materials and established techniques. Lessons include projects where children work with clay, pastels, watercolor crayons, and more.
