Common Sense Science is an easy-to-use curriculum designed to make teaching science simple and engaging. Whether you are teaching one child or a group, the program is flexible enough for homeschool, single-level or multi-level classrooms, co-ops, or science clubs. It also includes activities for 1st and 2nd grades, making it ideal for families or groups teaching multiple ages at the same time.

Designed primarily for grades 3–6, older students can complete much of the work independently, allowing for a smoother, more manageable school day.

Each lesson is clearly structured and scripted, so parents and teachers can confidently guide students without extensive preparation. Lessons include:

• Vocabulary to build understanding

• Research prompts to encourage deeper learning

• Step-by-step instructions for creating 3D graphic organizers

• Labs using common household items

As a hands-on science curriculum, Common Sense Science keeps students actively involved through experiments and interactive activities that make learning both meaningful and enjoyable. It is designed to spark curiosity while building a strong foundation in scientific thinking.

The program is organized into 18 three-day weeks, allowing you to complete two units per year at a comfortable pace. This structure provides consistency while still giving you the flexibility to adapt the schedule to your needs.

Everything you need for a complete unit study is in the course book and the Student Materials Packet. Older students will need access to basic reference materials.
