The Blumenfeld Oral Reading Assessment Test, created by noted reading expert author Samuel L. Blumenfeld, allows teacher and parent to determine approximate reading grade level of any reader, of any age (2nd grade to 12).
 
Easy to administer. Takes about 30 minutes to do. Anyone can give the test to a student. It includes complete, simple instructions for the person conducting the Test. 
 
The student is asked to pronounce 380 words during the test. The words progress from easy to harder. The Teacher marks an error for each mispronounced word. The Teacher listens to the student pronounce the words in the Test list. Based on the number of incorrectly pronounced words the Teacher can score their student from the second grade to the 12th grade level of proficiency.
 
The Blumenfeld Oral Reading Assessment Test contains five BEFORE test sets and also includes another set of five AFTER tests which can be used after remediation has been completed. This enables Teacher and Tester to measure progress of up to five different students both BEFORE utilizing reading remediation work and AFTER remediation work is accomplished.
