When Europeans frst landed at Sydney Cove, Australia’s inland was the great unknown.

The new colony desperately needed more fertile pasture land for their stock. It was only through the sheer determination, courage and sacrifice of the early explorers that the interior gradually opened up.

These brave men struggled over mountains, through swamps, and across waterless hot deserts in the hope of finding fertile land, and eventual fame and fortune.
