When students initially undertake the learning of numbers, it’s generally done by some kind of continuum, where the numbers just go on and on and on. Rote learning of numbers does not necessarily introduce students to the important structure of our number system; groupings of tens, hundreds, thousands and so on. Base Ten (otherwise known as Multi- Base Arithmetic Blocks or MAB) sets are powerful visual tools to introduce and reinforce trading/exchanging of place value in numbers. Consisting of units representing 1’s), longs (representing 10’s), flats (representing 100’s) and cubes (representing 1000’s).

The basic material is ground wood residue from PEFC-certified sustainable forest management as a waste product of wood processing, and a natural binder (also an ecological waste product). The result is an environmentally friendly, pollutants-free, affordable material with a long service life. The use of Eco-Wood is a sensible use of resources, ecological and CO2-neutral. The is realised environmental protection without the loss of quality!

RE-Wood® is a WPC material (wood – plastic – compound) that consists of 80% wood (spruce) and 20% plastic (recycled polypropylene). The material can be mixed with colours (masterbatch).
